Welcome to Cathedral Hill! |
Cathedral Hill is a wonderful community located on the eastern side of St. Paul's Summit-University neighborhood. Bordered by Marshall Avenue, John Ireland Boulevard, Summit Avenue and Dale Street, many of St. Paul's largest and most prestigious homes are located here.
A number of our buildings are included in the National Register of Historic Places, including Blair Flats (now known as The Blair Arcade) and the F. Scott Fitzgerald House, also known as Summit Terrace. Fitzgerald actually lived in quite a few houses throughout his life, a list of which can be found by clicking here.
Cathedral Hill's most prominent landmark is the Cathedral of St. Paul, which was recently designated as the National Shrine of the Apostle Paul. It was designed by Emmanuel Louis Masqueray who was also the chief architect for the 1904 World's Fair. Construction began in 1906 and took nine years. The cathedral is considered one of the most beautiful in the |
United States, and is built almost entirely of Minnesota marble, travertine and granite.
This site is dedicated to the many attractions and landmarks of the neighborhood. Our goal is to be our residents' home on the web by providing a directory of businesses, a gallery of neighborhood photographs, and any other resources that our residents and visitors may find useful. Feedback and suggestions are greatly appreciated!
